Myofascial Release is performed to reduce and relieve muscle spasms by eliminate fibrotic adhesions in the muscle fibers. This in turn will facilitate the healing process, thereby improving each muscle's functional capacity. It decreases pain while increasing circulation in the injured area to facilitate faster repair. It is often used to target specific trouble spots after an accident or injury has left you stiff and sore, as in instances of whiplash or falls.
Myofascial Release works by breaking down muscle adhesions that can build up after an accident or a chronic illness. By applying a sustained controlled pressure and friction to an afflicted area across the grain of the muscle, it relaxes rigid tissue and relieves the pain associated with stiff muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Myofascial Release is used to treat a variety of physical ailments such as:
- Car Accident, Slip & Fall, and Sports Injuries
- Neck & Back Pain
- Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain
- Limited mobility
- Postural problems
